Italy fared respectably at the 2005 ING New York City Marathon, but Italy
reigned supreme on the eve of the great race at the glorious Barilla PLUS
Pasta Party at Tavern on the Green, adjacent to the finishing line, in
Central Park.
About 10% of the more than 35,000 participants in the 2005 ING New York
City Marathon were from Italy (and more than 20% of those participating in
the celebratory Continental Airlines International Run on Saturday morning
before Marathon Sunday).
Three men and two women from Italy were among the elite professional
