October 22, 2005 was a perfect autumn evening as concert attendees, greeted
by two young ladies dressed in authentic Armenian costumes, took their
seats in the pews of St. Hagop Church here. As the church was filled to
capacity, the lighting dimmed and so began our concert, "Songs for
Armenia."

After the welcome and an invocation by Rev. Father Arsen Kassabian, the
opening remarks by Sara Mikaelian briefly summarized the founding of the
Racine Marzbed Armenian School and the role of the Armenian Relief Society.

Dr. Mary Olson, who was the narrator for the evening, began with a very
