With the announcement of Nayaba Arinde's hiring as its new editor, the
Amsterdam News welcomes an award-winning journalist to its staff.
After serving as senior staff writer at The Daily Challenge newspaper for
over eight years, Arinde will take on editing duties at the Amsterdam News,
one of the nation's longest-serving African American newspapers.
"The Amsterdam News is in pole position to air our concerns," Arinde said
after being named editor. "The Black press must continue to redress the
balance of the media, and the Amsterdam News must be viewed by the
mainstream as one of the most important ports of call for addressing issues
in our community."
