Fed: Poll shows drop in Coalition support

MELBOURNE, Feb 10 AAP - The ALP would have won a general election if it had been held
last weekend with the AWB hearings provoking a drop in coalition support, the latest Morgan
Poll has found.

Primary support for the coalition fell 1.5 per cent to 40.5 per cent as the Cole Commission
into AWB's grain deals with Iraq entered its third week of public hearings.

Support for the ALP jumped four per cent to 42 per cent, 4.4 per cent higher than their
result at the 2004 federal election.

On a two-party preferred basis the ALP is five per cent ahead of the coalition with
52.5 per cent of the vote.
