(OSU Daily Barometer) (U-WIRE) CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Ah yes, Valentine's Day. A day filled with roses, flowers, little heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, teddy bears, "I love you's" and now Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues." For those of you unfamiliar with this performance, "The Vagina Monologues" is an "episodic play" detailing conversations, performed by actors, about female sexuality. Every monologue performed pertains to female genitalia in some way.
While "The Vagina Monologues" brings with it some positive awareness, such as the exploitation of women in Bosnian sex camps, its overall message speaks a different tune. Most of these "monologues" ...
