SA: Asthma sufferers more likely to have heart disease: study

ADELAIDE, Feb 16 AAP - Older Australians with asthma are more likely to suffer from
heart disease, stroke and other chronic health conditions, a study has found.

The University of Adelaide study found asthmatics aged 55 years or older were twice
as likely to suffer from heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, stroke or osteoporosis than
those without asthma.

And asthma sufferers aged between 35 and 54 years were also more likely to develop
arthritis, the study found.
