The case against former Bosnian Serb army commander Ratko Mladic is strong, legal experts said Wednesday, and his trial would be quicker and more straightforward than that of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic.
Mladic is considered the driving force behind a military campaign to wipe out Bosnia's Muslims, including the July 1995 massacre of more than 7,500 people at Srebrenica. His arrest would be a major boost to the U.N. tribunal, set up over a decade ago to try the leading perpetrators of the Balkan wars of the 1990s.
