Without much hope, I asked whether I could tag along with IOC president Jacques Rogge for a day at the Turin Olympics. To my surprise, the answer was yes.

For 12 hours on Tuesday, I followed Rogge around as he went to biathlon, speedskating and figure skating _ all the while getting updates on developments in the Austrian doping case.

With plenty of time for conversation traveling between venues, Rogge touched on subjects from the drug scandal to the lack of atmosphere at some events.
