Years after Serbia's democratic revolution, it is the fate of top U.N. war crimes fugitive Ratko Mladic that will test the troubled Balkan country's resolve to let go of its nationalist past.
Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb commander wanted for genocide by a Netherlands-based U.N. court, remains at large despite huge international pressure for his arrest.
The fugitive general is believed to be hiding in Serbia under protection from the hardliners in the Serb military and police _ loyalists of the former autocratic President Slobodan Milosevic, who was ousted in 2000 by a reformist coalition.
