(Oklahoma Daily) (U-WIRE) NORMAN, Okla. -- As March approaches, many University of Oklahoma students are striving for perfect spring break bodies.

But while some hit the gym and sip SlimFasts, others take different, more dangerous routes to shape their frames.

Monday opens National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and OU is offering free promotions and information to students throughout the week.

As many as 10 percent of college women suffer from a clinical or nearly clinical eating disorder, according to womensissues.about.com. More than half of those suffer from bulimia nervosa, according to the Web site.
