(Daily Nebraskan) (CSTV U-WIRE) LINCOLN, Neb. -- Victory Haines always had been a Los Angeles Raiders fan.

So when former Raiders Coach Bill Callahan and his staff at Nebraska offered the 6-foot-7-inch, 285-pound offensive tackle from Ephraim, Utah, a scholarship, the decision he was faced with was easy.

"This is where football is big," Haines said. "Plus, it's closer to home than some of the others, and it's a winning program. I was a huge Raiders fan growing up, too."

Coming out of Snow (Utah) Junior College, Haines turned down offers from Duke, Hawaii, New Mexico and Illinois to play for NU.
