Department of the Treasury Committee on Senate Banking, Housing and Urban
Affairs April 4, 2006 Chairman Shelby, Ranking Member Sarbanes and other
distinguished members of the Committee, thank you for the opportunity to
speak to you today about our progress in combating terrorist financing
and money laundering. In the last four months, we have seen assessments
of our progress in both of these arenas - the 9/11 Commission Public Discourse
