"Explore the New Years - Many Cultures - One World" was an apt title for a
very successful event, as it showed through dinner, music and dance that
people were very much alike. It was put on by the Asian Student
Organization (ASO) of Metropolitan State University's Saint Paul campus and
held in the school's Great Hall Saturday evening, January 21.

Every year ASO has a Spring festival. This year, however, ASO President,
Carolyn Xiong, wanted to recruit more diversity into her organization and
came up with "Explore the New Years." The annual Spring Festival will still
go on in April but because the New Year is so important to all Asians and
