A Rwandan Hutu rebel leader arrested in Germany for suspected immigration violations filed an appeal Monday against his detention, a court spokesman said.

Ignace Murwanashyaka was arrested Friday in the southern city of Mannheim for the suspected violations, and was ordered held for three months pending deportation or extradition.
