Central African Republic has requested that the World Court investigate any crimes against humanity allegedly committed by ex-President Ange-Felix Patasse and Congo Vice President Jean-Pierre Bemba, the government said Friday.

The pair _ Central African Republic's top two suspects _ are accused of ordering or committing the murder and rape of civilians, embezzlement and the destruction of public and private property, government spokesman Celestin Gamou said.

Bemba was also a former Congo rebel leader allied with Patasse.
