The Boston Marathon marked the first competition in the World Marathon Majors _ a two-year challenge to crown a marathon champion. Runners earn points for their finishes in the Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York marathons.
Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi, who came in third in Boston's race and therefore got 10 points, said he was glad he did well in the series' first competition.
