As a part of city wide initiative to create a more effective and efficient
government, the City of Atlanta's Department of Planning and Community
Development has implemented major change to improve the permitting process
for Atlanta contractors and residents. On February 6, 2006, the Bureau of
Buildings launched two new on-line services. Now, contractors and residents
can view their building permit status and find the cost of their permit
online.

Applicants can easily view the status of a permit on the City of Atlanta's
website (http://www.atlantaga.gov/government/planning/burofbuildings.aspx)
