Debate about student grants continues

Instead of heading for the beach, Tatiana Anderson used her college spring
break to speak with senators about their continued support for a special
tuition grant designed by Republicans for District students to pursue
higher education.

Anderson attends North Carolina Central University, a "public" historically
Black university located in Durham, N.C. She said this program alone has
saved the minds and lives of hundreds of African-American youth who
otherwise may have fallen victim to the streets.
