Wycliffe N. Morton, 73 Professional Baseball Player
Wycliffe "Bubba" Nathaniel Morton was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Washington,
D.C., to the late Wycliffe F. and Mary Page Morton. He attended the
District of Columbia Public Schools and graduated from Armstrong High
School in 1949. Later he attended Howard University in 1954.
He served as a radio operator with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950 to 1954.
He married Audrey Farrar from Washington and from their union four children
were born; Michelle, Michael, Brian and Brenda.
He later married Annie Pearlman.
Mr. Morton signed his first professional baseball contract with the Detroit
Tigers in 1955 and started his first ...
