The human side of Hurricane Katrina was put on cinematic display last week
at the Al-Fishawy Caf. A cross-section of activists and progressives
attended the screening of "Old Orleans" and "Amnesty for Survivors,"
followed by commentary from native New Orleanian and former Black Panther,
Malik Rahim.

Directed by Cuban immigrant William Sabourin, "Old Orleans" was an
unsettling portrayal of the suffering in the Crescent City, including
violence and poverty before the storm and disorder and deprivation
