Code Blue: Changing Perspectives About Police

The Washington Convention Center was ground zero last weekend for the D.C.
Police Department's Eighth Annual Career Expo. The goal of the recruitment
session was to increase the number of incoming cadets and to continue to
shift long-standing preconceived notions about the men (and women) in blue.

"The media has a lot to do with the images of police as anti-low income,
anti-youth and anti-minority. While you may always run into bad apples in
any situation, by and large, the police are out there in the communities of
Washington to protect and serve and we want the average citizen to be aware
