Violent Reactions Not the Answer to Muhammad Caricatures

While some Muslims across the world violently protested the recent
publication of defamatory caricatures of Islam founder Prophet Muhammad in
European newspapers, D.C. area Muslims are calling for an end to the
violence. They have asked for the European newspapers to be held
accountable for religious heresy but advised that protesters practice
restraint in condemning the offensive cartoons.

Quelling the anger of local area Muslims, the Council on American-Islamic
Relations (CAIR) held a news conference in D.C. on Feb. 5 to offer up a
