There is much to celebrate in March, the first day of spring, warming
temperatures, longer days, the return of baseball and "March Madness."
However, March is also Women's History Month, a precursor to African
American Women's Month in April. For 2006, the theme for Women's History
Month is "Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams." National Women's
History Project (NWHP) informs us that this year's theme honors the spirit
of possibility and hope set in motion by generations of women in their
creation of communities and their encouragement of dreams.
