Malia Lazu, a nationally known political organizer specializing in
progressive politics, voting reform and the youth vote, recently returned
to her alma mater, Emerson College, to receive an award and speak to future
political communicators studying at the college.
Lazu, who graduated from Emerson in 1999, visited the campus as the Walt
Littlefield Distinguished Speaker in Rhetoric and Political Communication.
She is the director of the Racial Justice Campaign for Progressive Majority
