London Muslims demand civility in public discourse

LONDON - Calling for "global civility," thousands of Muslims gathered
Saturday in London to show a unified front against the injustice,
disrespect and vilification they say is suffered by Muslims around the
world.

Organized in 10 days by the newly formed Muslim Action Committee (MAC), a
collective of some 400 Muslim groups from across the United Kingdom, the
demonstration began with speeches, calls to worship and music at Trafalgar
Square in central London, before marchers made their way past Buckingham
Palace for a prayer service at Hyde Park. The MAC said between 40,000 and
