DETROIT - Hassen Alaoui, 34, was shot and killed during a robbery at a
Citgo gas station on Grand River in Detroit on February 4th, 2006. Lt.
Morrell of the Detroit Police Department told The Arab American News this
week that "there are no suspects in custody and the investigation is
ongoing." He refused to make any further comments about the crime.
Hassen's good friend wrote the following in his memory:
Shattered Dreams
Just like any immigrant with big dreams, Hassen Alaoui came to America to
realize those dreams, but his grandiose dreams turned into a nightmare.
Unfortunately this story is becoming all too common. Hassen was from
Morocco and was a brilliant chemistry ...
