Activists, city council battle over Palestine

It was a frustrating night for Blaine Coleman.

For at least four years that he can remember, the unlikely yet tireless
Jewish advocate for Palestinian rights and self-determination has shown up
in the Ann Arbor City Council chamber before 7:00 pm, the starting time for
council meetings.

However, on the evening of Monday, January 23rd, an Ann Arbor police
officer told Coleman that no one was allowed into council chambers until
council was in session, forcing Coleman to walk several city blocks in
search of a public restroom.
