Dearborn travel agency tied to Florida arrests

A Florida store owner, Hasan Qasem, was arrested on February 22nd after he
was accused of illegally sending $53,000 to people in Yemen through a
Dearborn travel agency, Arabian Horizon Travel. Authorities also accuse
Qasem of illegally transferring $83,500 to the West Bank and to Luxembourg.

The FBI searched Qasem's grocery store on charges that he sent money
overseas in a manner designed to avoid government scrutiny.

FBI agents from Michigan searched Qasem's store and home Wednesday and
arrested him. The case is being prosecuted out of the Eastern District of
Michigan. The FBI would not comment on the arrest.
