Well over a decade ago, in the early 1990s 1990s, Dean Dezs Horvth, Dean
of the Schulich School of Business at York University, made his first visit
to India. Back then India was very much a planned economy that was
diligently registering a gross domestic product growth rate of around 4
percent (the infamous 'Hindu Growth Rate'). In that context, Dean Horvth's
speech to the Chamber of Commerce in Bangalore was especially significant.
