After nearly two months and about 10 hours of often heated testimony, a
zoning-board hearing that will determine whether a New Jersey synagogue can
relocate to a 9-acre parcel of land in Bucks County has come to an end.
Nonetheless, the standoff between members of Congregation Brothers of
Israel -- a 123-year-old Conservative synagogue currently based in Trenton,
N.J. -- and residents of a housing development in Langhorne that abuts the
property seems far from over.
That's because the Middletown Township Zoning Board, which last met on Feb.
22, won't address the matter again until March 22, when it will discuss the
