Malaysia will declare itself free of the virulent H5N1 strain of bird flu if there are no new infections recorded by the end of next month, the agriculture minister said.
"If by the end of May there is no new case, we will be able to declare the country free of the disease," Muhyiddin Yassin said late Wednesday, according to the official Bernama news agency.
