The brutal tragedy unfolding in western Sudan's Darfur region has dominated reports on humanitarian issues this year, as it should.
The United States' belated entry into talks aimed at stopping the genocide and aiding the dispossessed Fur people who are now refugees in Chad is welcome. It can only help turn needed international attention to this unfolding disaster.
