Local medical team to establish field hospital

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has despatched a medical team to Yogyakarta to treat the tens of thousands injured in the earthquake.
The 66-member group, which includes surgeons, dentists and medical officers, left in four C310 aircraft yesterday and will establish a field hospital there.
They will join a 10-man advance party already in Yogyakarta.
Malaysian rescue and aid personnel from several relief agencies had rushed to the stricken areas since the 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck on Saturday.
More than 5,100 people were killed, 20,000 were injured and 130,000 left homeless.
