Attorney General Criminal Division Department of Justice Committee on Senate
Judiciary June 6, 2006 Mr. Chairman and Members of the Committee, thank
you for the opportunity to discuss with you today the difficult issue of
unauthorized disclosures of classified information sometimes referred to
as ``leaks.`` I intend to explain the position of the Department of Justice
with respect to the scope of the relevant statutes as they relate to the
press and the willful dissemination of classified information. In doing
