NSW: Highway patrol so understaffed they can't do their job: Opp

SYDNEY, June 13 AAP - The NSW highway patrol is so under resourced it is struggling
to meet its commitments, the state opposition says.

Opposition police spokesman Mike Gallacher today said there were several fatalities
on NSW roads this year in areas where there were only two or three highway patrol officers
on duty.

"The Iemma Labor government has slashed police resources to the point where NSW no
longer has an adequate highway patrol," Mr Gallacher said.
