Top U.N. war crimes fugitive Ratko Mladic was mostly hiding in Serbia until last year, but his current whereabouts remain unknown, a government official said Saturday.

Rasim Ljajic, who heads the government committee in charge of relations with a U.N. war crimes court, told The Associated Press that the authorities have traced Mladic's movements over the last several years, since he was indicted for genocide by the Netherlands-based tribunal.
