Danish toy maker Lego Group will move one-third of its domestic production to the Czech Republic and lay off two-thirds of the staff _ up to 1,200 employees _ in Denmark, news reports said Tuesday.
The Vejle Amts Folkeblad daily said the company famous for its colorful plastic building blocks was expected to present its plan later in the day, including layoffs and the production move to Kladno in the Czech Republic, where Lego already has a factory.
Lego spokeswoman Charlotte Simonsen declined to comment on the reports, saying the company expected to issue a statement later in the day.
