Exxon Mobil Corp. faces another lawsuit over a massive underground oil spill in the city's Brooklyn area that is still seeping sticky goo into a city waterway, decades after the leak was first noticed.
The slow pace of the cleanup has prompted residents and elected officials to launch a series of lawsuits against the oil company, and now state environmental officials want to take the issue to court, too.
An estimated 17 million gallons (64 million liters) of petroleum once lay in a vast plume beneath the streets that was a major home to oil refineries for more than a century. Countless spills went unnoticed ...
