Officials from Japan and China will hold talks on reforestation projects in China where desertification has contributed to devastating floods and sand storms, Japan's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Shiro Sadoshima, a senior Foreign Ministry official, and Masatoshi Numata of the Forestry Agency, will meet with their Chinese counterparts, Hong Xiayong of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Qu Guilin of the State Forestry Bureau, in China on Saturday, said ministry official Ryozo Sadano.
The one-day meeting, to be held in Chengdu in China's southwestern province of Sichuan, will discuss tree-planting projects to be carried out from July through June ...
