Vic: Liberals say they won't build a toxic waste dump in state

MELBOURNE, Aug 11 AAP - The Liberal Party has promised not to build a toxic waste dump
in Victoria if it wins the state election in November.

The state opposition said it would focus on reducing and recycling waste rather than
trying to find somewhere to store it.

Opposition environment spokesman David Davis said the Liberals would work with industry
and individuals to find ways to minimise their toxic waste.

"The Liberal Party has no plans for a toxic waste dump whatsoever," Mr Davis told The
Herald Sun newspaper.
