Trading coaches?
Interesting item that appeared on ESPN.com this weekend, stating the Mets and Orioles were seriously considering exchanging pitching coaches. The deal — Rick Peterson for Leo Mazzone — was supposed to be a marriage of convenience, since Mazzone has fallen out of favor with some members of the O's front office. Peterson, meanwhile, has no commitment from the Mets beyond 2006, when his three-year contract is set to expire.
Apparently, the talks never went anywhere, and from the Mets' perspective, that's good news. ...
