Wal-Mart China Companies Set up Labor Unions

BEIJING, Oct 17, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Total 62 Wal-Mart stores in 30 cities of China have set up labor unions by September this year, registering more than 6,000 members, according to an announcement by All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU).

Establishment of Wal-Mart Nanguo store in Shantou, Guangdong Province, on September 29 enabled the trade union and Wal-Mart China companies to achieve the goal of building labor unions, said Xu Deming, ACFTU vice chairman.
