KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Asmawi Ani, or Mawi, laughed off talk that he was planning to marry a student from Batu Gajah, Perak.
The Akademi Fantasia 3 champion also said he did not know any Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student, contrary to rumours that his family had approached one, believed to be a family friend, whom his late father, Ani Ahmad, had wanted him to marry.
"Some people are inventing fanciful stories. It's not true," he said, adding that he had female friends from Perak, but they were all his fellow Akademi Fantasia singers.
