WA: Officer stood down over Mallard cold case review leak

PERTH, Nov 2 AAP - Western Australia's top cop has sacked an officer who leaked information
which he says seriously compromised the cold case review into the murder of Perth jeweller
Pamela Lawrence.
WA Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan last month announced the review had cleared
Andrew Mallard, 43, of bludgeoning Ms Lawrence to death in her exclusive Mosman Park jewellery
store in 1994.
Mr Mallard was jailed for the killing in 1995 but police began reviewing the case again
after the High Court last year quashed his conviction following years of appeals.
