National Standard on Lactic Acid Drink Trips into Dilemma

CHINA, Nov 15, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's national standard on lactic acid drink under revision tripped into dilemma because of the divergence to the amount of lactic acid bacteria.

Professor Zeng Qingxiao, the chief director of Guangzhong Institute of Food Science and Technology, revealed that the new national standard was in the period to collect comments and the relatively bigger divergence was aroused on the concentration of lactic acid bacteria because a large number of domestic enterprises hoped the lower threshold for the new standard in defence of his own interest.
