CIMB Group has opened its first full-fledged branch in Sabah.
CIMB deputy chief executive Charon Wardini Mokhzani said CIMB's decision to spread its wings to Sabah was prompted by the growing interest to invest in the state.
"Sabah is an important market for CIMB," he said, noting that Sabah is the third largest state by population with total exports of RM27 billion last year.
Charon said Sabah has huge investment opportunities, particularly in the oil and gas as well as in the palm oil industries.
