SA: Toyota wins Australia's best large car award

By Tim Dornin

ADELAIDE, Dec 6 AAP - Toyota's locally-built Aurion V6 has been named Australia's best
large car, with the new VE Holden Commodore finishing third in the awards presented by
the nation's combined motoring clubs.

Two diesels and a hybrid also were winners in the Australia's Best Cars Awards, heralding
a breakthrough for models powered by alternative fuels.

On sale for just over a month, the judges praised the Aurion as a well-rounded package
of technology and refinement.

"The Aurion is the new cat that Toyota has set among the established pigeons," said
chief judge Ernest Litera.
