The American International Group and C.V. Starr, a firm controlled by Maurice Greenberg, the former chairman and chief executive of AIG, have settled 18 court cases and arbitrations, freeing Starr it to continue building its domestic and international insurance and investment businesses.The settlement, announced Tuesday, covers a wide range of disputes, including claims by AIG to the ownership of Starr's assets, its name and its agency business.
