(Iowa State Daily) (U-WIRE) AMES, Iowa -- An Iowa State University athlete was suspended from the football team Thursday morning following his arrest for theft and burglary.

Wendell Kellen White, freshman in liberal arts and sciences and an open option and redshirt defensive back on the ISU football team, turned himself into the ISU Police at about 5:45 a.m. Thursday at the ISU Police Office.

"The detectives notified White and told him that we had a warrant and made arrangements for his surrender," said ISU Police Cmdr. Gene Deisinger.
