THE breathtaking Halong Bay, a Unesco world heritage site with over 1,900 islands, was gouged out by a dragon on its way to the sea. Or so the story goes, writes TAN CHOE CHOE.
One cannot be said to have visited Hanoi if one has not been to Halong Bay. What puts this bay at the very top of the `must-visit places' in Hanoi is the cluster of spectacular limestone islands scattered like `jewels tossed from heaven into its emerald-green waters'.
